Former MACHA coach hired at an IHL team

MACHA is proud to announce that Brian Gratz, the former Head Coach with the Penn State Lions, has been selected to be the new Head Coach and General Manager of the Dayton Gems of the IHL. We wish Brian good luck in his future endeavor. More information can be found HERE.

The ACHA has announced the post season Awards for the players and MACHA is well represented.
 
Southeast Regional Selections
 
First Team: Erik Becker-UMBC
Second Team : Alex Post  &  PJ Carmack-UMBC
Third Team: Dylan Hickerstein-Penn State & Bill Choy -Rowan 
In addition New Members of MACHA for this coming season
 
First Team All American as well as First Team SE: Jerry Holden -Kennesaw State
 
Second Team SE: Daniel Kozmik-Liberty

MACHA  Members UPENN and Princeton have decided to move out of the MACHA for the 2010-2011 season.  All of MACHA wishes both programs all the best in their future seasons.
 
 

MACHA Welcomes a New Division

MACHA is pleased to announce that for the 2010-2011 Season the addition of a third division to the league.
 
The new division will comprise of: Liberty University, Kennesaw State University, Virginia Tech, Life University and East Carolina University. This newly formed Division boasts Six National Championships (5 D-II,1 D-III); 2 of them saw Regional action last season and 3 of the member programs where ranked in the top 15 at the 5th ranking of the ACHA Southeast region.
 
At the start of the 2010-2011 season MACHA will be home to 17 teams playing in three Divisions for Divisional as well as League Championship. Nine of the top 15 ranked (09-10) teams will call MACHA home with 5 members being in the top 10 in addition of course to the 2009-2010 ACHA Coach of the Year.
 
The MACHA will do an expose on each of the fine programs for the web site in near future.
 
Additionally; MACHA is please to announce it has formed a partnership with the Blue Ridge Hockey League of the ACHA D-III. Together the strategic alliance will oversee and manage both D-II and D-III programs.

Voegtli Named ACHA Coach of the Year

The 2010 American Collegiate Hockey Association [ACHA] Men's Division 2 Coach-of-the-Year Award, presented by Harrow Sports, goes to Aaron Voegtli of the University of Maryland-Baltimore County, as selected by the ACHA Men’s Division 2 Awards Committee, which includes Regional Ranking Coordinators and former winners of the Coach-of-the-Year.
